Sophie Weiner asks people on ‘what will people do if they don’t have to work for a living’. In her article, André Daniel Vital da Silva Coelho, one of editors at Basic Income News (this site), replies:
‘People will work… on tasks of their choosing, not on paid jobs with which they only barely identify with, if at all. Now that cannot happen if people don’t have the means to get the basic resources they need to live with dignity. That’s where basic income comes in. ‘
