[Wolfgang Müller – BI News]
In this article, Al Sheahen argues that the labor market has changed. Full employment is very unlikely in the future. Globalization and improvement of technology will eliminate more jobs. This development demands a break of “the link between work and income” in order to avoid poverty. We need to recognize that people do not need jobs but income. Sheahen concludes that one useful tool is a basic income guarantee, which would provide income security but also economic freedom and other advantages.

Dear Mr. Sheahen,
So, you’ve made some good points. I’m fairly convinced that there’s definitely a social and economic benefit to a Basic Income Guarantee for all adults, but you don’t answer the most important question of all:
What do we, as citizens of the U.S., world, and internet, do to promote and create a Basic Income Guarantee? Is there a politician I can stump for, several dozen online petitions I can sign, or posters I can hang around my city? I want to help make the world around me a much better place for everyone, and if this is one of the ways that I can do it, I am willing to help.
Thank you,
